First WA-OR reflexologist retreat in Hood River

October 13, 2015

A delightful time of learning, networking, and trading reflexology

Six Washington reflexologists came to Hood River to connect with ORN members for the first WA-OR reflexologists’ retreat on Oct 3 & 4, 2015. On Saturday, we had twelve attendees at the Language of the Feet class taught by Kiannaa Leighland at the Hood River Hostel. Under Kiannaa’s seasoned tutelage, we explored the shapes and lines of toes and feet and learned to ask simple questions about the life of the person on the massage table. After class, several of us had a potluck—complete with spectacular sunset—at our gorgeous rental house on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River.

Sunday morning, some of us returned to the hostel for breakfast, then back to the house for reflexology trades on the deck overlooking the river and a nearby vineyard. Later a group of us headed east to the Stonehenge replica, the Maryhill Museum—which was hosting a crafts fair, and the Maryhill Winery. Monday morning we fit in another reflexology trade.

We definitely want to have another retreat! Next October, we’ll coordinate our retreat with Peter and Dorthe’s Touchpoint workshop weekend in Hood River, Round About: Hip/Sciatica/Knee, before heading up to Seattle where they’ll teach Round About: the Heart.

Thanks to my co-organizer John Forsberg, to our instructor Kiannaa, and to everyone at ORN and WRA who participated in and helped to make this retreat a great success.

Looking forward to next year in Hood River.
