The following is a letter from the International Council of Reflexology. It describes this upcoming, world-wide event and links to PR materials available to all.

 

Dear ICR Members and fellow Reflexologists,

 

The last full week of September each year is extremely important to us, as it is the time we promote World Reflexology Week (WRW).

 

WRW was first announced in London in 1997, and in 1999 at our Conference in Hawaii, the Governor of Hawaii proclaimed the last week in September as WRW.   

 

The purpose is to spread public awareness globally - but this will require active participation. ICR, as a Board, would like to encourage you to plan at least one activity that can be scheduled to take place during WRW, so that we can assist in distributing a greater understanding of our profession as well as holistic and complementary health care. This will not only benefit reflexology as a science but also practitioners in our profession.

The brochure is wonderfully detailed and encouraging. There is a List of activities and events that can be used to promote WRW. The logo is also available together with a worksheet to guide you in planning your event. All of these documents can be downloaded and used as tools to assist you.

 

WRW is not only for this year but for EVERY year. The more we participate, the more reflexology awareness will spread into global communities.

 

IMPORTANT:  Please take photographs of your events and submit these, together with the individual, group or organization’s names to the ICR office so that we may have the opportunity to recognize your efforts in our global Newsletter.

 

URGENT: To those who participated last year (2012) in WRW, please email names and details to ICR as soon as possible so that we can acknowledge your fine efforts at our conference in South Africa, September 2013.
